Are You Integrated? Features to Help You Reach a Wider Audience

How integrated are your new media accounts? There are a number of features and apps making it easier than ever to share information and status updates across accounts. That’s a good thing for two reasons: these features decrease the amount of time you spend updating each site and ensure your message reaches a wider audience.

LinkedIn has announced a new feature that allows you to integrate your LinkedIn profile with your Twitter feed. It’s easy to setup and even easier to use.

If you want to share your LinkedIn status with your Twitter followers, you simply check a box and then click the “share” button. The message is simultaneously sent out as a Tweet, as well as LinkedIn status update.

On the other hand, if you would prefer to share a Tweet on your LinkedIn page, just add the hashtag #in or #li and the Tweet appears in your LinkedIn status bar.

Building on this integration, LinkedIn is also rolling out a Tweets application that adds additional Twitter functionality, allowing you to keep track of your Twitter followers on LinkedIn.

These recent LinkedIn updates are just a few of the features making it easier to share information across a wide range of new media sites. If you like those, you might also check out the following list of apps that will help you increase the flow of information and traffic among your sites:

  • Fan Box – This widget allows you to post Facebook content on your website.
  • WP FollowMe – This WordPress plugin adds a “Follow Me” bar on the right side of your blog to encourage readers to follow you on Twitter.
  • Twitter Widgets – Display your Tweets on your website or Facebook pages.
  • Twitterfeed – Send blog posts to Twitter, Facebook and other sites.
  • Share on LinkedIn – This bundle of features lets you not only share articles, but also feature your blog content on your LinkedIn site.
  • Blog Link powered by Typepad – Like the previous feature, this app allows you to share blog content on your LinkedIn page and, although it’s powered by Typepad, it works with any blog platform.
  • Publish to Facebook – This feature lets users publish content from other sites back to their Facebook site.

These are some of the features that can help you reach a wider audience by simultaneously sharing information across sites.

What widgets, plugins, features and apps have worked well for you?
